BRIEF INTRODUCTION
My name is Eni Oghenerume, C.E.O The Dependables, I'm the last child and only girl of my parents. I grew up always around both of my brothers till they left for the University, so at my early teen I had this Tom-boyish thing going on. I was born and brought up in Delta State, Nigeria. I attended NNPC Staff School as a child and then Federal Government College Warri, Delta State.

THE STORY BEHIND THE JOURNEY
After applying for medicine in one of the Northern Universities and not getting it even when I passed the criteria’s, I gave up my pursuit for medicine. I remember that I was forced to write the POST JAMB examination that eventually got me into the university, my mum called me and yelled when she found out I was going to skip the exam, I got there almost 40 minutes after everyone had started. I was offered admission to study Botany and in my year two I switched to Pharmacy. I have always wanted to be independent (earning for myself), my parents gave me everything I wanted and even more as a student  but I still wanted to earn for myself;

 when I was way younger I remember I would treat and clean up anyone with a bruise or injury in my house and I forced them to pay me.
In school I did lots of businesses. I always thought on ways I could live independent of my parents, I cannot emphasize on how much I hate being idle and people of that nature. There was this ASUU strike that lasted about 8months, I think in 2013, I was idle and frustrated; I laid at home daily and seriously was displeased with my state. That was when I came up with “The Dependables”, the idea was to start small with something that needed little or no expense, so initially we were just about event ushers.

COURSE OF STUDY vs PASSION
Oh my goodness! I love Pharmacy, I love the Public Health, I love Medicine!!! (glitz in her eyes). This comes first. The Dependables is a means to an end, it's a means that would also never end. The Dependables is going to help me actualize my medical and world health related dreams. I was born to help people, I know this!!! I'm more sure of this than any other thing and The Dependables' will help me get there.

FUNDING
Like I said earlier, it didn’t need much funding. All I did was to get word around that I have trained ushers ready to work, prior to their first job I trained them. Then subsequently made it a routine. All new recruits were trained after they registered, by a professional coach Miss Cordelia Metobor. All my earnings I kept and in less than a year I had gathered half a million then I widened the company and extended it to a full Event management company.
CHALLENGES
I have had many challenges, from people not taking me seriously because I am a lady to men harassing my female workers, to some of my workers not been taken seriously because they are undergraduates. There were times when it was difficult to get jobs, publicity and advertising and of course when I decided to expand I had major funding issues.

FUTURE GOALS
I want to help people discover their self esteem, I hope to have started that journey probably be working with the World Health Organization or the United Nations, start up a facility to help women and children who do not have it easy, a facility where they can learn a trade or two; it’s a big and bigger picture for more years after that.

LAST WORDS
First off, make God the sole source of your thoughts and dreams, more like saying HE should make decisions for you, of course you can't fail when God is in charge.
Secondly you must be willing to listen to what people have to say or show in their acts but know which words or actions to take and which to throw out; my parents played a huge role in what I am today, I learnt not just from their teachings but also their life styles and their work ethics. Also I had a lot of friends insinuate that I was stupid and that I didn't know what I was doing. A lot of people mocked me and criticized. I knew which to take and which was a load of crap.
To start your own business, you should be willing to make decisions and take responsibility for them whether those decisions end up being right or wrong knowing that there is always a lesson to be learnt at the end.
