 INTRODUCTION
I am ESE AYAEBENE, a graduate from Delta State University where I studied Guidance Counseling.
I am a Counselor who specializes on issues of Child molestation and sexual assault. I also run a project called PROJECT STRONGER ME, which helps in creating awareness about the psychological effects of child molestation and sexual assault on the victims. We create a forum where we reach out to victims, and offer rehabilitation services to help them gain their confidence and self worth.

Your course of study is not a lucrative one in the country presently, so what guided your choice of study in school?
That is true because most of my friends in school saw the department as a dumping ground. Actually my first course of choice was Psychology and that was after I started reading books and listening to Bishop T.D. Jakes. I prayed about it, got an inner conviction that Guidance counseling was part of my purpose in life and now the rest is history.

How has your experience in life guided you to be a better person?
I was abused as a child and raped as a young adult so I have first hand experience on how it destroys self-esteem and affects a person’s ability to relate with others. I felt alone and most people I spoke to didn’t know what to say or how to help me. To a large extent, that inspired my passion for reaching out to victims of molestation and sexual assault.

Tell us about the other things you are into?
I am a gospel singer, songwriter, guitarist and graphic artist. In my spare time I make pastries and beaded jewelries.

What inspired it and when did you start officially?
Music was my way to escape when I was younger it kinda grew on me. My love for music guided me to Christ when I was growing up. I started officially around 2003/2004 although I released my first official single this year and so far I have three singles Onye zoputa , Jiroghene and Talk na do God.

Tell us the challenges so far?
The kind of music industry we have is the type that tries to influence your style and message. It takes a lot of discipline and determination to stay focused.

What advice do you have for those coming?
If you believe in yourself you can achieve anything because it is not just about the talent but the passion. I would rather work with talent-less people with passion than people who have talent but lack passion. If you are passionate you can acquire skill and your skill will develop into your talent.w
