INTRODUCTION
My name is Rita Besidone Obiano,  I hail from Delta state. I have a diploma in Security and Strategic Studies from Delta State University and a B.Sc in Accounting from National Open University of Nigeria. Presently I work as the Creative Director of House of Jasper, HOJ is an outfit that specializes in the production and sale of shoes, bags add custom fashion accessories. As part of expansion, we recently added a makeover and fashion line.

THE GENESIS
I would say it runs in the family. My Mum was a fashion designer so as my sisters and I just naturally flowed into it. After my diploma in 2011, I had some time at home and for want for what to do I started making accessories and then in 2012 I decided to go into making shoes and bags. I guess I was trying to run away from making cloths like my sisters. I ran away from it but I'm back to it.

STARTED OFFICIALLY
Started 2011

FUNDING
I didn't really start with money so to speak because I had everything I needed then at my disposal. It was as I starting making money that I started acquiring stuffs. Many of the things I use today I inherited. Well, I didn't start because I wanted to own a business, I just needed something to pass time while I waited for my admission to pull through but when I started making money I decided to take it seriously; House of Jasper.
HOW DO YOU GET YOUR IDEAS
I naturally like to try out stuffs even when I know the outcome. I see something and I just know I'll be able to create it, basically I get ideas from what I see

OTHER THINGS YOU DO
I sing

HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU PUT IN YOUR WORK?
On the average 7-9hours per day

FEAR AND HOW YOU OVERCOME IT
Fear is what we make it to be; I always face it and most of the times its not actually there.

YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS?
In terms Of my work, success is when I look at a finished job and I am satisfied by it...

FAILURES AND LESSONS LEARNT
Having to make and remake a particular thing over and over not minding whether I'm running at a loss because a client's satisfaction is key. I see failure as a learning ground at least I get to know how not to do a thing. In general, failure makes me better in the long run

MENTORS/INFLUENCERS
My husband, my pastors, my family.

WHEN THINGS DIDN'T GO THE WAY YOU ANTICIPATED
I remember the first training I organized, I think I had just one trainee. It was really frustrating to have publicized it for weeks and just one person showed up. I had to learn that I didn't have to do everything. 'We' organized other ones and the turnouts were really good. All I had to do was train while the other aspects were taken care of by my team.
