HIS STORY
Efetobor Apochi (born November 19, 1987) is an international boxer who started his professional career in 2009 as he participated in the Nigerian National Sport Festival, representing Delta State where he won three fights by “KO” (knock out), clinched the Silver medal at the end earning him the number two position in Nigeria as boxing is concerned and
at the subsequent Sports festival he won the Gold medal and rose to be number one spot. Today Efetobor is the captain of the Nigerian boxing team, four times National Champion, Silver Medalist in Africa and Common Wealth Bronze Medalist.

Early Life and Education
Efetobor Apochi in Warri Delta State, Nigeria. Born into the family of Engr. Isaac Apochi and Mrs. Mercy Apochi (an educationist). Efetobor reflects upon his childhood as he tells CN how his mother was and is still a "strong willed and disciplined educationist" who did not comprise in sparing the rod as when due and it helped mould him.
His Primary Education and Secondary education were at Kogbodi International Schools, Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria and his tertiary education was at The Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. 

To Efetobor, what seemed like a childhood "crush" turned a profession, as he recounts to his
early days  to CN
EFETOBOR APOCHI; Fit and Strong willed "CREAM NIGERIAN" “I started boxing at the age of 19 which makes me think I started rather late because today I met different boxers from around the world and when we get talking they tell me how early they started off; 4, 8, 11 and so on and am like phew!”
He continues;
 “boxing has always been a “crush” more like a revelation from God to me; back in the days (my secondary school days) I knew all the match time and schedules on Tv coupled with the fact that both of my parents are sports enthusiasts, so it made the whole process smooth”.

"I never had the opportunity to train in a boxing gym i trained under the rain and sun, there times when it was really rough; no money, support was ot forth coming and to cap it, lack of good food to keep fit but the love of what i did kept me in the game" 




Career and Achievements

Efetobor is an advocate of "positive energy", something he says kept him going and is always fond of the qoute "if you can't make more friends don't create enemies"

Efetobor is a down-to-earthed and God fearing athlete. He is the fourth of six siblings.
Amongst his siblings are Tega Apochi and Nollywood actor Von Apochi
