INTRODUCTION
My name is Carol Arheghan (Mrs.) I am the first out of 7 children of both parents. I attended New Era Girls College Benin City, Edo State, in year 2000. I had my first degree in Business administration at the University of Lagos in 2012. I am into anything that has to do with events including event planning, I am a designer; I make customized shirt for events, couples, families, Church events, School uniform, Sport wears, Convocation gowns, Company uniforms for hospitals, Aviation and lots more for other corporate organizations.

Tell us how you arrived at what you doing now?
Like I said I studied business administration at the University of Lagos. Before I got admission to University of Lagos (UNILAG) I was in OAU for a while only to later discover that my admission was fake. It was a very trying period for me and my family, I was very devastated knowing how I struggled to finish my secondary school it was like the end of the road for me. I lost hope in myself but God used a friend who told me about the University of Lagos per time program. Coming for per time in UNILAG was also not an easy decision for me reason been that I didn’t t know anyone in Lagos and the tuition fee was very expensive for me because I struggled to pay my fees during my secondary school days reason being that my parents were not financially stable but I was determined to go to school so I had to hawk orange, ice-cream and stuffs like that to pay my school fees. So when I got to UNILAG it was another big challenge paying my fees and getting accommodation outside campus was very challenging but God saw me through. After I got my admission I was staying with a family in Surulere were I begged to stay with them for about 3 months and after the 3 months they threw my things out but God made a way. Since it was per time I got a job meaning I could work and school at the same time and in my 3rd year in school I met my husband that was in 2009 and in  2010 I got married to the most handsome man in the whole world *lol* I call him best husband in the world.
The guy I dated before I met my husband left me because he thought I was going to be a liabilty- Carol Arheghan, CEO Karotiz Events and More.

In 2011 he asked me to resign from work because of distance and the pay (I was earning N17, 000) and my house was far from my place of work so the pay was not worth the stress it could not even cover my transport to work knowing the way Lagos is. So I resigned and started looking inward thinking of what I could do, then I stated shopping for busy workers especially working mothers who don't have time to go to the market then later on I started event planning because it’s what I loved doing; I started it in my own little way helping friends to plan their weddings do the decor, help them do their wedding shopping especially those who are busy at work and they will give something little at the end of the day. Though it was little, I was enjoying it anyways because I had passion for it; I was doing decors and planning weddings. To me then it was the best thing that ever happened to me *lol*. Then I started making shirts for my event work, in my final year, my class governor asked us to look for someone who could customize T-shirts for us for our final year party so I told him I could do it and I bid for the contract (800 students) and got the contract then I went out to look for a factory where I could get it done, I got one and they made it for me but guess what? I made a huge loss I was even in debt because that was my first but it was a beautiful work my class mate loved the work and that alone gave me a sense of fulfillment.

Despite the loss, It was a beautiful experience and at the same time a tough moment for me and my husband because I was not working likewise himself because he resigned from his place of work and started his own business but clients were not forth coming for him (he is into visa documentations process for those who want to study abroad and also help them get admission abroad) so it was really tough more also that I made a loss in my first contract, it was really bad. So one day we both went out to eat in a nearby restaurant, the food there was good but their uniform was too poor so I convinced the woman to let me make shirts for her girls and she gave me some money, I did a very beautiful work for her girls. From there people that went there to eat started calling me to make shirt for them so gradually I was making shirt sometimes even for free for families and friends just to publicize what I do and I started getting clients gradually.

One of the things that inspired me was the determination to succeed because of where I  was coming from and more also the guy I dated before I met my husband left me because I am the first child among 7 so he felt because he saw I was going to be a liability when we are married *laughs* and I told myself I can never be poor, I will be a wife that my husband will be proud of and I will be an asset to my husband and everyone around me not a liability and today God has answered that prayer by the grace of God we are sponsoring some persons in school through this business and also have been able to lend Helping hand to those in need and also another thing that inspired me was to add value to families and corporate body that is give them an image by re-branding them through what they wear.

The idea was ready to execute, how did you get funding to start up?
Like I said before, I started gradually by taking my work to other factories, because then I did not have my own sewing machines. As God would have it, I got this contract from a client worth N200, 000. That was the money I used in buying my first 3 sewing machines and today I have more than 3 now and we are still buying more and as our demand increases we will still buy more. I have five (5) staff at the moment, I have my sewing factory and right now all I can say is that God is taking us step by step to where he want us to be.

When did you start off officially?
Karotiz was registered in 2013, we officially started May 2014; that was when I bought my first set of sewing machines and my head office was my husband's sitting room *bursts into laughter* that's where I started from and today we have a sewing factory now and we are getting bigger.

As a business do you make profit?
Ooh yes! I do! If not how do I pay my staff and do other things God said he will bless the labour of your hands so of cause I do.

Tell us about the other things your into?
I am a Pastor's wife am (A Minister of The Gospel by HIS Grace), I handle School of The Word in my Church, I am a Singer, also my husband and I do organize training for young people who want to succeed in life we also counsel young once who have miss their path in life especially those who believe that they can only make it when they travel outside the shores of this country

Challenges
Challenges are numerous but I will give you the most challenging and that is getting the right personnel, getting the right materials to work and adequate funding. There are occasion were we have to go and source for right material to work outside the country because we cannot get it here in Nigeria and it’s so stressful.

Goals
To produce uniforms that will meet international standard.
To be a one stop shop in the production of customized shirt for individual and corporate organization
Also to empower young people to be self reliant

Do you have any advice for young people who want to start their own business?
YES……
My advice is that they should believe in themselves.
They should have sense of responsibility toward themselves and what they do.
They should never believe that there is somebody somewhere who is responsible for their failure rather they should take responsibility for their life.
They should enjoy where they are on the way to where they are going, that is taking life one step at a time and enjoy every stage they are in.
They should have passion and vision for what they want to achieve also one truth they must know without a shadow of doubt is that success does not come over night; its opportunity meeting with preparation.
